Colorado Vacation

For the month of July, Barbara's sister Lois and her husband, Skip Mauser rented a house high in The Colorado Rockies at a place called Silverthorne. We joined them for a wonderful week. The house is right on one fairway of a beautiful golf course called The Raven at Three Peaks. We were at an elevation of 9000 feet, and surrounded by 14,000 + foot peaks.

Kym (Mauser) and Mark Birdsill joined us for dinner one evening. They live in the next town, Dillon.

We visited some historic mining towns, like Leadville and Breckenridge.

One day we went with Kym and the dogs on a hike to a pretty mountain lake at 8000 foot elevation. The lake was formed by a beaver dam!

One day we went on a guided rafting trip on the Arkansas River, up close to where it starts in the Rockies. While a lot of the trip was floating along enjoying the scenery, we did go down some Class 2 and Class 3 rapids. We all loved it!

What a great, relaxing vacation! Thanks Lois and Skip.
